A trio of former Cerritos College women's basketball players who moved on to the four-year level, helped their team advance to the NAIA Tournament. Seniors April Perry and Rose Boatner played for Southern University of New Orleans, while sophomore Talor Hixon had been starting for Xavier University of Louisana, but missed their playoff game due to injury.

Perry, who was named the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Year, led the team to a second place finish in the conference and an appearance in the NAIA Playoffs against Lubbock Christian University. In that game, Perry scored 16 points with four assists and four rebounds, while Boatner finished with six points and six rebounds in a 78-57 loss to the top-ranked Lady Chaparrals. The loss ended the season at 20-5 for the Lady Knights.

As for Hixon, she was a member of the Xavier University of Louisiana team that won the GCAC and started 24 games during the season. But she was unavailable in the Nuggets 67-63 loss to Faulkner (AL) University.

While with the Falcons, Perry was a two-time 1st Team All-South Coast Conference selection and led the team in scoring at 15.7 points and 3.9 assists a game, while she led the team in steals (40) and converted 74% of her free throws. Boatner, a 1st Team pick her sophomore year after being named 2nd Team as a freshman, led the team with 10 rebounds a game and averaged 7.4 points a game during the 2010-11 season.

Hixon played only the 2011-12 season for the Falcons, was a 2nd Team all-conference pick. She averaged 6.0 points and 4.1 rebounds a game and was second on the team with 68 assists.
