Jeffrey Miera was named Falcons Athletic Director in January, 2025. In this role, Miera will provide leadership, strategic direction and oversight for all of Cerritos’ 19 varsity sports comprised of more than 450 student-athletes. He will direct administrative aspects of the athletics department, including finance and budget, personnel decisions, strategic planning, facilities usage and general operations.
Miera joins the Falcons after most recently serving as the Director of Athletics at El Camino College. Miera joined the El Camino athletics department as an Athletic Specialist in August, 2017 and was elevated to Director of Athletics in April, 2020. In this role, Miera provided oversight of the day-to-day operations of the college’s 22-sport athletic program, and helped lead the Warriors to two 3C2A State Championships and one National Championship during his tenure.
Prior to his arrival at El Camino, Miera served in various capacities with the City of El Segundo. Miera served as Specialist for the Recreation Department and spent time overseeing an aquatics facility which housed practices and games for the El Segundo High School Aquatics programs, as well as community swim lessons. He also managed multiple adult sport leagues for the City of El Segundo and supervised an after-school facility for at-risk youth.
Miera attended El Camino where he earned his AA degree while playing baseball and helping to lead his team to the 3C2A State Championship tournament. After ECC, Miera earned a scholarship to play NCAA Division I baseball at Indiana State University where he earned co-captain honors of the Sycamores baseball team, who went on to win a Missouri Valley Conference championship and compete in an NCAA Regional. While at ISU, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and graduated with honors. Miera then went on to earn a Master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University in Irvine, California, again graduating with honors.
Miera and his wife, Samantha, have one daughter, Lila, and a beloved family dog, Brody. He enjoys watching, following, and participating in sports of all kinds and is an avid fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Lakers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
