Downey HS: Reached the CIF Prelims as a member of the 1600-meter relay team his senior year after qualifying in the 800 meters (1:58.0) as a junior… Qualified for the San Gabriel Valley League finals in the 800 meters as a sophomore and freshman… Also competed in the 1600 meters (4:33.0) and 3200 meters (10:37.0)… Was a member of the cross country team for four years and the soccer team for one season…..
