The Cerritos College track & field teams continued their strong early-season form at the Beach Opener, hosted by California State University, Long Beach. The Falcons produced multiple 3C2A State "A" qualifying marks while showing depth across both track and field events.
The women's throwing group once again led the way with a dominant performance. Mackenzie Monson posted a pair of state qualifiers in the hammer (55.45m) and shot put (12.50m), while also hitting the standard in the discus (39.29m). Aysia Mallory Fellicia delivered an outstanding series as well, qualifying in all three throws—hammer (53.84m), shot put (11.66m), and discus (41.68m). Miracle Siaosi added to the effort with state marks in both the hammer (45.51m) and discus (38.51m).
In the sprints and relays, the Falcons continued to excel. The 4x100m relay team of Naleyah Davis, Angel Corral, Taaliah Stephenson, and Deona Standifer clocked a state-qualifying 48.61, while the 4x400m quartet of Corral, Nyla Nolan, Stephenson, and Standifer also met the standard with a strong 3:57.31 finish.
Individually, Corral led the way in the 400m with a state-qualifying 57.29, and Nyla Nolan added another qualifying mark in the 800m (2:20.54). Taaliah Stephenson turned in a solid 12.25 in the 100m, while Standifer posted a 25.55 in the 200m.
In the field events, the high jump group showed consistency with Ashlyn Bradley and Sanaa Trotter both clearing 1.51m, while Naleyah Davis added a 1.46m mark. Victoria Ruiz improved in the steeplechase, finishing in 13:50.63. Esther Gonzalez paced the distance squad with efforts in both the 1500m (5:06.21) and 3000m (11:03.85).
On the men's side, the Falcons were highlighted by strong performances in the throws. Damian Salas led the hammer with a state-qualifying 53.11m, while Francisco Arechiga also reached the standard at 48.95m. Dang Tran added a qualifying mark in the shot put (14.07m) to continue his consistent season.
The men's sprint group turned in another solid showing, led by Xavier Williams and Ethan Rosborough, who both clocked 10.78 in the 100m. The 4x100m relay team of Williams, Rosborough, Nolan Kolbly, and Jonathan McCullough posted a 42.54.
In the middle-distance and distance events, Juan Flores led the way with an impressive 8:47.59 in the 3000m, while Joshua Morales followed closely at 8:55.57. The 1500m and 800m groups added depth with multiple competitive finishes, and Alexander Bowens highlighted the quarter-milers with a 51.19 in the 400m while also running 22.08 in the 200m.
Additional field event highlights included Javone Brown clearing 1.76m in the high jump and Tyler Robinson leading the long jump at 6.04m.
