Although the Cerritos College baseball team had a shortened 2020 season and didn't play in 2021, their players were in high demand by four-year colleges. Not since the 2003 season, when 16 players moved on, have the Falcons had this many players commit to four-year schools. There are 13 members from 2020 who are moving on, with the possibility of as many as three more signings coming.

Three players moved on early and played the 2021 season with their new colleges. David Hays, who was the Falcons pitching ace in 2020, had a very good all-around season at Azusa Pacific University. The pitcher/first baseman appeared in 32 games on the season and started 16 times as a pitcher. At the plate, he hit .273 with four home runs and 11 RBI in 22 games, which included a pair of solo home runs against Biola University. As a pitcher, he struck out an amazing 62 batters in 31 innings on the mound across 10 appearances, which included tossing 4 2/3 scoreless innings with 12 strikeouts in NCAA West Region playoffs against Northwest Nazarene. Pitcher Andrew Arguello posted a 3-3 record with two complete games and one save for Bluefield (VA) College in 13 appearances. He started 11 times and recorded 46 strikeouts in 69 innings and had a 4.83 ERA. Outfielder Camden Angell, who played at Martin Methodist (TN) University (now the University of Tennessee Southern), saw action in 17 games and batted .227 on the year. He clubbed a pair of doubles and a triple, while he was named to the Mid-South Conference All-Academic team.

Those from the 2020 season that have committed to four-year universities include outfielders Buck Anderson (Saint Leo (FL) University) and Nolan Brown (Fresno Pacific University), as well as middle infielder Alex Bueno (Oregon Institute of Technology) and third baseman Richard Castro (Concordia University Irvine). Utility players Matt Den Hartog, who played third base, first base and served as a designated hitter, signed with Holy Names University, as did pitcher/first baseman/outfielder Nick Martinez. Catcher Owen Beebe will be moving on to Hope International University, whole closer Andy Hurtado signed with Cal Poly Pomona. Recruited as a catcher, converted pitcher Eric Winchester will be moving on the Simpson University, while 2021 recruit Tyler Krist will taking his catching skills to California Miramar University.

The electrifying Anderson, who spent the summer playing for Falcons bench coach Coco Crisp with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers of the MLB Draft League, can also play second base. In the Covid-shortened 2020 season, the Cal State Bakersfield transfer batted .321 with a pair of walk-off hits and swiped 13 bases to lead the team. He also led the team with 19 walks and drove in 10 batters. As for Brown, who will still have four years of eligibility, he slapped out a .269 batting average with nine RBI and nine stolen bases, while Bueno was hitting .278 with a team-leading two home runs and 16 RBI. A transfer from Cal State San Bernardino, Castro was hitting .303 with 10 RBI, while Den Hartog ended the 2020 season with a .267 batting average with three of his four RBI coming in one game. All three will still have three seasons of playing eligibility.

Martinez led the team in 2020 with a .366 batting average and had nine RBI at the plate, while he was 2-1 on the mound with a pair of starts in six appearances. He posted a 5.82 ERA in 17 innings of work. As for Beebe, he started the season slow at the plate, but ended as the hottest hitter on the team. He ended the season with a .294 batting average, which included hitting a blazing .571 (12-for-21) in the final six games. Hurtado, who led the team with four saves, went 1-1 on the mound and even started one game. In that game, he tossed 5 2/3 innings and allowed three hits while striking out nine. His numbers at the end of the 2020 season saw him post 22 strikeouts in 17 1/3 innings with a 2.60 ERA. All three will still have three seasons of playing eligibility.

Winchester, who was expected to be the team's ace in his sophomore season in 2019, recorded a pair of starts on the mound and tossed 7 2/3 innings while posting 13 strikeouts and had a 1.17 ERA before his season came to an end with an injury. It also kept him from suiting up in 2020, as well. He will now get a chance to continue his collegiate pitching career. Krist, who was recruited to take over as the team's catcher, never had a chance to wear the Falcons pinstripes.
