In what will be a bounty of signings this season, four more Cerritos College football players put pen to paper to sign their National Letters of Intent. On the heels of RB Rhamondre Stevenson signing with the University of Oklahoma, three of his offensive linemen were scooped up by four-year schools. Offensive linemen Adam Tourville (La Habra HS) has signed with Kent State University, an FBS program that plays in the Mid-American Conference, with Ernesto Ramirez (Bishop Amat HS) signing with FBS school Arkansas State University, who will be facing Nevada in the NOVA Home Loana Arizona Bowl this season, while Justin Gonzalez (La Mirada HS) will be joining Lindenwood (MO) University, an NAIA school who plays in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Ramirez will have three years of eligibility remaining, while the others have two years remaining.
Also signing for the Falcons was cornerback Robert Corner (Buena Park HS), who joins former teammates Josh Caldwell and Justin Garrett at the University of Texas-El Paso. He is the 10th Cerritos player in the program's history to sign with the Miners, an FBS program that played in the Conference USA.
The trio of offensive linemen helped Stevenson lead the country in rushing with 2,111 yards this season, which is also the second most in California Community College history and sixth best ever in the nation among community colleges. Tourville was a 1st Team National Division Central League selection, while Ramirez was a 2nd Team selection. They, along with sophomore Fidel Mendes and freshman Noah Clasen opened up holes for Stevenson, who averaged 9.1 yards per carry on the season. Not only were they a good run-blocking unit, the trio of offensive linemen helped the Falcons pass for 2,224 yards and average 462 yards of offense each game.
Corner helped anchor the secondary and tied for the team lead with six pass breakups to go along with 33 tackles (18 solo) and three interceptions. He picked off a pair of passes against Mt. San Antonio College and recorded a season-high six tackles against both Moorpark College and El Camino College.
