Long Beach Wilson HS: Earned the Alpizar Scholarship as part of the cross country and track and field teams as a senior, while also  receiving the Unsung Runner Award… Spent two seasons on both teams… While on the track team, he qualified for the CIF Prelims in the 3200 meters, while also competing in the 1600 meters (4:55)…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was running in the CIF Prelims as an alternate after coming back from an injury earlier in the season… Has two siblings – Abel and Monica… Is the son of Jose Luis and Felipa Perez… Born in Long Beach, CA on August 3, 1994…..
