Two members of the Cerritos College softball team - one from this season and one from last season - have made their four-year commitments. Outfielder/1st Baseman Nadia Landeros has decided to play at Arizona Christian University, while Miranda Diaz, who served as an assistant coach this season after start at shortstop for two seasons, has committed to Chaminade University.

Landeros, a transfer from Rio Hondo College, batted .336 on the season with nine doubles, one triple, one home run and 19 RBI. She also committed just three errors on defense and had a .987 fielding percentage. With only two extra base hits and two RBI through the first 20 games, Landeros drove in 17 runs over the last 21 games, which included four multi-RBI games. Also during the second half of the season, Landeros batted .376 (32-for-85), which included 11 multiple-hit games. Her lone home run of the season completed a comeback against Antelope Valley College in a 9-7 win.

She will be joining a Firebirds team that posted a 28-22 record this season, while her versatility will allow Landeros to play multiple positions, as the team is looking to replace five seniors.

As for Diaz (pictured, left), she was the Falcons starting shortstop from 2022-23 and helped them to a third place finish in the 3C2A State Championships as a sophomore. Diaz, who was selected to the All-State Tournament Team, was also voted the team's Defensive Player of the Year in 2023. On the season, Diaz batted .322 with seven doubles, two triples, a home run and 27 RBI. She opened the season with a 10-game hitting streak and ended her Cerritos career with an 11-game hitting streak. As a freshman, Diaz batted .287 with six doubles, one home run, 16 walks and 22 RBI.

At Chaminade, Diaz will be looked up to help the Silverswords improve in their 15-21 record. Four of their six graduating seniors are infielders, so Diaz will have a chance to move into a starting role.
