Cerritos College Baseball (2024): Named 1st Team All-America by ABCA/Rawlings, as well as Pacific Association Southern California Regional 1st Team, and was voted the Southern California Pitcher of the Year and South Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year… Led the team with 16 starts and went 13-2 with five complete games and a 1.50 ERA in 120 1/3 innings… His wins and ERA led the state… His 13 wins are tied for the fifth most in a season in school history, while his innings are tied for the eighth most… Allowed just 97 hits and struck out 79 batters… Picked up two of his wins in the postseason and went at least 6 1/3 innings in his final 15 starts on the year… Also tossed consecutive complete game shutouts and at one point, went 28 consecutive innings without allowing a run…..

Los Alamitos HS: Named 1st Team All-Sunset League, his school’s Athlete of the Year and was selected to play in the Orange County All-Star Game his senior season… Pitched 33 innings and had a 1.60 ERA, while hitting .420 with three home runs as a senior… Was a 2nd Team all-league pick his junior year after pitching 38 innings and going 5-0 with a 1.83 ERA… Spent four years on the baseball team and two years with the football team…..

Personal: Most memorable moments were when he went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI against Fountain Valley High, beating La Mirada High when he earned the save and hitting his first home run against Marina High… Would like to transfer to the University of Hawaii… Aspires to be a sports therapist… Hobbies include coaching his little brother’s travel ball team… Nicknamed “Ricky”… Has two siblings – Damion (17) and Drason (11)…Is the son of Leonel and Carri Valdez… Born in Long Beach, CA on May 14, 2005…..
