Sophomore pitcher Holden Hungerford (Warren HS/Cal State Los Angeles) has made the commitment to Chaminade University after playing his sophomore season with the Cerritos College baseball team. A transfer from Cal State Los Angeles, Hungerford appeared in 10 games and made one start, while he posted a pair of saves. He tossed 17 innings and struck out 19 batters with a 5.29 ERA.

During the season, Hungerford posted saves in back-to-back games against Southwestern College and Allan Hancock College. Aside from his four-inning stint in his lone start against Rio Hondo College, Hungerford tossed three innings of shutout relief against Compton College and also went two innings against both Los Angeles Harbor College and El Camino College.

While at Cal State Los Angeles, Hungerford appeared in 11 games and went 2-3 with a 5.83 ERA in 41.2 inning. He won consecutive starts against Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay, which included a season-high seven strikeouts against Cal State East Bay in 6.1 innings.

He will be joining a Silverswords team that is looking to replace five graduating seniors on a team that went 18-32 on the year and placed 10th in the PacWest Conference.

Hungerford is the second Cerritos pitcher to make their decision on next season, as All-American starting pitcher Derek Valdez (Los Alamitos HS) has signed with the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
