Playing in their final regular season series, the Cerritos College baseball team posted a 20-0 South Coast Conference win over visiting Los Angeles Harbor College on Tuesday. The Falcons (29-9, 16-6) will look for their 30th win of the season on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. when they travel to take on the host Seahawks.

One of the main highlights of the game was the return of freshman designated hitter Brody Cuellar (Bishop Montgomery HS), who missed the last two weeks with an injury. He wasted no time to get back into the swing of things, as he sent the first offering from LA Harbor's Ronnie Ogusuku over the wall for his fourth home run of the season. Although Cerritos opened an 11-0 lead after the first three innings, the solo blast by Cuellar would be all the offense necessary.

Freshman starting pitcher Nolan Patterson (Long Beach Millikan HS) won his sixth straight start, as he allowed just one hit through six innings and improved to 9-1 on the year. He is the third Falcons starting pitcher to have at least nine wins on the season. He retired the first 13 batters he faced until pinch-hitter Christian Juarez drew a walk. The only other blemish for Patterson was a one-out double by Emilio Brenes in the sixth inning.

The Falcons added four more runs in the second inning when freshman third baseman Mateo Heredia (El Segundo HS) doubled with one out, while sophomore catcher Ryan Reyes (Los Alamitos HS) drew a walk. Freshman shortstop Jake Fowler (Los Alamitos HS) followed with an RBI double, with sophomore outfielder Evan Saito (Torrance HS) lacing a two-run double to make it a 4-0 lead. Cuellar drove in his second run of the game with a two-out single. Reyes provided the big blow in a six-run third inning, as he hit a three-run double, with Cuellar driving in two more with a double.

In the sixth inning, freshman outfielder Owen Martin (Narbonne HS) clubbed a two-run double down the right field line, while Fowler picked up another RBI single. Freshman Julian Arellano (Downey HS), who came on as a pinch-hitter for Cuellar in the sixth inning, closed out the scoring with a two-out, three-run home run that cleared the inside of the right field foul pole.

Cuellar finished the day 4-for-4 with five RBI, while Saito went 3-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored. Reyes reached base three more times in the win, with Martin (2-for-4, two RBI, two runs, walk), Heredia (2-for-5, three runs) and Fowler (2-for-5, two RBI, two runs) also having multiple-hit games.
