During the 2025 season, the Cerritos College baseball team worked three catchers into the lineup. The first of the trio, Nate Gardenswartz (Long Beach Wilson HS), has committed to Point Park (PA) University and is the second Falcon to do so in as many years. Outfielder Nico Briones sat out last season due to an injury and will have two seasons to play, as will Gardenswartz.

On the year, Gardenswartz appeared in 22 games and batted .235 (12-for-51) with a double, home run and drove in 14 runs. Defensively, he did not commit an error and threw our three of the five baserunners who tried to steal on him. He had a three-hit game against Allan Hancock College and drove in four runs, which included a two-run home run. Gardenswartz also had a two-hit game against El Camino College.

He missed the 2024 season due to an injury, while he batted .263 (10-for-38) with three RBI and a pair of doubles in his freshman season. Gardenswartz missed the final 14 games of the 2023 year due to his injury.

Gardenswartz is now the sixth member of the Falcons to make their four-year comittment and joins outfielders  Evan Saito (Cal State Northridge) and Isaiah Rios (Azusa Pacific University), along with pitchers Noah Andrunas (Saint Louis University), Holden Hungerford (Chaminade University) and Derek Valdez (University of Hawai'i and Manoa).
