Cerritos College freshman starting pitcher Nolan Patterson (Long Beach Millikan HS) tossed his second complete game of the season, as he limited visiting East Los Angeles College to just five hits in a 5-0 South Coast Conference win. Patterson (7-1) lowered his conference ERA to a miniscule 0.82, which leads the conference, while his 1.60 ERA on the season ranks 11th in the state. The Falcons (25-7, 12-4) will travel to Monterey Park on Thursday for a 2:00 p.m. game against the Huskies (15-16, 8-8).

Patterson retired the first 10 batters to start the game, and did not allow a batter to advance to second base. He scattered five singles, with a double play in the ninth inning helping him along the way.

Offensively, Cerritos scored three times in the bottom of the third inning, as freshman first baseman Wyatt Ormonde (Long Beach Millikan HS) clubbed his 10th home run of the season, which was a two-out line drive that cleared the left field fence. He's the first Falcon to hit at least 10 home runs since Craig Wilson and Bret Barberie each hit 10 on the team's 1987 state championship club.

After freshman shortstop Lucas Scott (Long Beach Poly HS) led off with a double, freshman outfielder Owen Martin (Narbonne HS) drew a two-out walk, which set the table for Ormonde, who hit his home run with a full count.

The Falcons added single runs in the fifth and eighth innings to close out the scoring. Sophomore outfielder Evan Saito (Torrance HS) led off the fifth inning with a single, moved to second base on a sacrifice bunt by sophomore designated hitter Diego Orozco (Long Beach Wilson HS). He then scored on an RBI single from Martin, who returned to the lineup after missing four of the last five games. Sophomore Isaiah Rios (St. John Bosco HS) got things started in the eighth inning with a single and moved to second base on a single from freshman third baseman Mateo Heredia (El Segundo HS). With two outs, Scott walked to load the bases, while a walk to Saito forced in the run.
