On Thursday, the Cerritos College men's tennis team won their eighth match in a row, as they defeated El Camino College, 9-0 in a South Coast Conference contest. The Falcons (10-1, 3-0) will come right back and travel to Grossmont College (3-4) for a 2:00 p.m. match on Friday.

Sitting their top five singles players, Cerritos still posted straight set wins in singles and wins in all three doubles matches. Playing in the #1 singles position on the ladder for the first time all season, freshman Eliot Dota (Paris, France) posted a solid 6-1, 6-4 win, with sophomore Edgar Munoz (Paramount HS) earning a 6-1, 6-1 victory in his second time playing at #2. Sophomore Mark Antoniuk (W. 124 School, Russia) played at #3 and recorded a 6-1, 6-0 win, with freshman Kyle Konishi (Mayfair HS) improving to 4-0 in the #4 position with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.

Playing for the third time this year, sophomore David Evans (Long Beach Wilson HS) posted a 6-1, 6-3 win, with freshman Derik Dizon (Mayfair HS) earning a 7-5, 6-3 in his second match this year.

Doubles play had Antoniuk and his regular partner, sophomore Agustin Lombardi (E.S.D.S. Argentina) earning a tough 8-5 win in the #1 spot, while Munoz and Konishi (8-1), as well as Evans and Dizon (8-2) winning handily.
