With 20 entries in the Sacramento City Tournament on Saturday, the Cerritos College women's wrestling team won three individual titles on their way to the team championship. The Falcons finished with 100 team points, which outdistanced second place Menlo College (86 team points) and Mt. San Antonio College (83 team points). The team will host their first dual of the season on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. when they welcome Westcliff University.

Kinsey Konrad (with trophy) was named the tournament's MVP Freshman 180-pound Kinsey Konrad (Redondo Union HS) was one of the three individual champions and was awarded the Most Valuable Player after recording a pair of pins to win her title. Konrad (pictured, left) opened with a pin over teammate Isabella Pacheco (Kennedy HS) in 2:28 and then finished off Addrie Rodriguez of Simpson University in 27 seconds.

Also winning their weight class was freshman Raven Ross (Long Beach Poly HS), who defeated three opponents at 207 pounds. The day started with a pin in 4:00 in her first match and followed that with a pin over Sacramento City College's Paula Aguilar in 27 seconds. In the finals, Ross went up against Jade Seltz of East Los Angeles College and recorded a 4-2 victory. After surrendering a penalty point in the first period for a pair of passive calls, Ross came out in the second period and registered a pair of quick takedowns to open a 4-1 lead and went on to post her 4-2 victory.

The third individual champion was freshman 235-pound Keyscha Rodriguez (Paramount HS), who competed in a round robin tournament with three other entries. After suffering a loss in her first match, Rodriguez went on to pin Victoria Jimenez by pin in 34 seconds and then pinned Honey Orduno of Palomar College in 2:12. The wrestler who defeated Rodriguez in the first match, Illeana Serrano of Lassen College, lost her other two matches.

Also placing in the tournament were freshman 117-pound Megan Sognefest (University HS) and freshman 145-pound Saquoia Dubuque (Big Bear HS), who each came in fourth place in their respective weight classes.
