Falcons Fall After Big Sixth Inning by El Camino

Cerritos College battled back to even the score midway through the game, but a decisive sixth inning by El Camino proved to be the difference as the Falcons dropped a 10-3 decision at Kincaid Field.

Cerritos showed resilience early, responding after El Camino took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. In the second, Mateo Heredia reached base and later scored on an RBI single from Hudson Comer to tie the game at 1-1.

El Camino regained the lead in the third and added another run in the fifth, but the Falcons answered in the bottom half of the inning. Alejandro Rosas and Comer both came around to score on a two-run single by Tyler Peshke, evening the score at 3-3 and shifting momentum back to Cerritos.

Starting pitcher Owen Waytas kept the Falcons within striking distance through 4.2 innings, allowing three runs while working through traffic on the bases. However, the Warriors capitalized in the sixth inning, using a combination of walks and timely hits to break the game open. El Camino plated seven runs in the frame, highlighted by a three-run home run from Gil Solis, to take a 10-3 lead.

Cerritos was unable to recover from the surge despite collecting eight hits on the day. Andrew Perez led the Falcons with two hits, while Comer added two hits, an RBI, and a run scored. Peshke drove in two runs to account for the Falcons' offensive production.
