A nomad since graduating Soldan (MO) High School in 2008, former Cerritos College men's basketball player Ken Brown played for four different colleges during his amateur career. That trend continued after college, as Brown has played for 16 professional teams from all parts of the globe since 2012. Brown started his college career at Southwest Tennessee Community College before playing for the Falcons during the 2009-10 season. He then transferred to Western Kentucky University and then played his senior season at Philander Smith (AR) College.
With Cerritos, Brown (pictured, left) was named 1st Team All-South Coast Conference and was voted the team's Co-Most Valuable Player, as the Falcons won the conference championship during head coach Russ May's first season. They concluded the season with an 18-11 mark and saw their season end on a controversial call in a 67-65 Southern California Regional Playoff loss to Mt. San Antonio College. With Western Kentucky, Brown helped lead the Hilltoppers to the Sun Belt Conference Championship semifinal game, while he was an NAIA All-American his senior year.
In his lone season with Cerritos, Brown averaged 14.4 points per game, which led the team, while he also dished out four assists per game and averaged 3.6 rebounds from his point guard position. He was also second on the team with 30 three-pointers and converted 44% of his field goals and 70% of his free throws.
Even though he has bounced around from team to team and league to league, Brown's numbers have been consistent. He has averaged double-digit points every season, which included a career-high 19.3 points a game when he played in Italy during the 2017-18 season. Over his career, Brown has averaged at least four assists a game and three steals per game, despite relocating almost every year and adjusting to a new city, new teammates and a new league.
He led his Donar team to the Dutch League championship in 2015, BC Lietuvos rytas team to the Lithuanian League championship later that year and the WABA Club Championship for his Lebanese team in 2017.
With his Larisa team this season, Brown is averaging 10.4 points, 3.8 assists and 1.4 rebound a game so far through 14 games.
