On Tuesday, the Cerritos College men's tennis team extended their winning streak to 12 matches in a row after a 9-0 win over NCAA Division III Lake Forest (IL) College. The Falcons (15-1) will play their second consecutive match against an NCAA Division III school on Thursday when they host Swarthmore (PA) College.

Aside from the first set in the #6 singles match, Cerritos had the match in hand from start to finish. The top five singles players combined to lose just four games, while the top two players, freshmen Kent Hunter (Home Schooled) and Victor Castro (Novo Hamburgo, Brazil) recorded 6-0, 6-0 wins. Additionally, freshmen Alex Prokopchuk (School 45, Ukraine) and Victor Plaza-Barnils (AESA Prep Academy, TX) surrendered just one game each. After sophomore Marcos Paulo Silvestre (Colégio Tiradentes of PMMG, Brazil) battled through the first set, 7-5, he went on to win the second set, 6-1 in the #6 spot, while sophomore Biel Roca Carreras (Iguolada, Spain) recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win.

Doubles was more of the same, as Prokopchuk and Silvestre earned an 8-1 win, as did Plaza-Barnils and sophomore Kwangeun Lee (Sunny Hills HS).
