M. Tennis: Cerritos makes quick work of Mt. SAC

Needing just a little over an hour, the Cerritos College men's tennis team made quick work of visiting Mt. San Antonio College in a Western State Conference East Division match on Tuesday. The Falcons (10-1, 5-0) surrendered just two points in their 9-0 win against the Mounties. The team will host Victor Valley College in a 2:00 p.m. conference match on Thursday.

Facing an undermanned Mounties team, Cerritos recorded forfeit wins in two singles and one doubles match. The two doubles matches that were contested saw the Falcons record 8-0 wins, while two of the four singles matches netted 6-0, 6-0 victories.

Swapping places on the singles ladder, sophomore Bruno Duarte (Centro Educacional Rogêdo, Brazil) posted a 6-1, 6-0 win in the #1 position, with freshman Arthur Toledo (Goliath Academy, FL) recording an identical score in the #2 spot. The other singles matches were shutout wins by sophomores Tomas Bella (Colegio Mallinckrodt (Argentina/Cypress College) and Nico De La Pena (Downey HS). The two pairs also comprised the doubles pairings.
