After coming in second place in the 500-yard freestyle at the California Community College Athletic Association women's swimming state championships, Cerritos College freshman Katherine Gabayeron (Cerritos HS) ended her season with a school record time in the 200-yard IM to come in sixth place, while her personal record time in the 200-yard freestyle earned her a ninth place on Friday at East Los Angeles College. Additionally, freshman Yuridia Vela (Schurr HS) competed in the 3-meter diving competition.

Gabayeron posted a time of 2:13.07 in the 200-yard IM, which broke the record time of 2:13.66 she set the week before at the South Coast Conference Championships. She qualified for the finals in seventh place and then edged Sierra College's Morgan Miller, for sixth place, as she posted a time of 2:13.21. Although she was edged out of competing for the state championship in the 200-yard freestyle, Gabayeron won the B-Final with a personal record time of 1:57.37 to come in ninth place overall, which was over a second ahead of Cypress College's Jacelyn Youngerman, who took 10th overall at 1:58.75.

Vela finished in 17th place in the 3-meter diving competition, as she compiled 143.35 points for her dives. She also competed in the 100-yard backstroke and came in 19th place with a time of 1:05.04.
