In a South Coast Conference match on Friday, the Cerritos College women's soccer team finished in a 1-1 draw with host East Los Angeles College. The Falcons (3-8-2, 1-1-1) will now host El Camino College at 4:00 p.m. next Tuesday.
With the first half winding down, the Falcons broke a scoreless tie when sophomore Jessica Arroyo (Buena Park HS) fired a shot that went past Huskies goalkeeper Camila Cano for her team-leading fourth goal of the season.
Although it was their only goal of the game, Cerritos peppered Cano with 14 shots, with seven of them on goal. By contrast, ELAC had just four shots on goal, with one getting past freshman goalkeeper Paulina Prescott (Downey HS). The goal in the 75th minute tied the game and closed out the scoring on the day, with Prescott making a pair of saves on the day.
Sophomore Ariana Rivera (Long Beach Millikan HS) led the team with five shots, and had three of them on goal.
