W. Soccer: Jenna Santos first Falcon to make four-year decision

After two seasons where she was named 1st Team All-South Coast Conference South Division, Cerritos College women's soccer player Jenna Santos (St. Joseph HS) is the first to make their four-year decision. Santos has signed with Division II Cal Poly Pomona and will be looked up to help solidify their defense while also serving as a threat on offense.

Jenna Santos signs with Cal Poly Pomona As a sophomore with the Falcons this season, Santos scored a pair of goals and led the team with eight assists. Her best game of the season came against Los Angeles Harbor College, where she scored once and assisted on two others in a 6-0 win. It was the first of four consecutive games where Santos assisted on a goal.

"We are truly grateful for all the time and commitment Jenna has put into our program here at Cerritos," stated head coach Yvette Vascones. "She has definitely raised the bar and level of competition. We are so proud of what she has accomplished and will accomplish at Cal Poly Pomona. We all wish her the best of luck!"

In her freshman year with Cerritos, Santos (pictured, left) started 19 of the team's 21 games and scored four goals with three assists. Her 44 shots on were second on the team, with 20 of them on goal. Against College of the Desert, Santos converted a penalty kick and scored goals in consecutive games against Los Angeles Harbor and Los Angeles City College, with the latter being the game-winner.

Santos will be joining a Broncos team that went 18-3-3 on the year and advanced to the NCAA Division II Final Four. They defeated #1-seed Dallas Baptist University, 2-0 in the quarterfinals to punch their ticket, but saw their season come to an end with a 1-0 loss to Florida Tech University in the semifinals. Cal Poly Pomona was also the regular season champion of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).
