Hosting the Cerritos Invitational on Friday, the Cerritos College women's track and field team won four events on the day. The Falcons, who will split their squad next weekend at the Cal State Long Beach Invitational and Mt. San Antonio Relays (held at El Camino College), won both of the relay races, as well as two field events.
Sophomore Crystal Rodriguez (El Rancho HS) moved her name into the Top 5 in the hammer with her third place performance. She recorded a distance of 48.20 meters, with freshman teammate Amber Hart (Narbonne HS) taking fifth place with a distance of 43.08 meters. Rodriguez also won the discus with a throw that traveled 44.47 meters, with Hart in third place at 40.68 meters. It was a third place finish in the shot put for Rodriguez, who turned in a distance of 12.15 meters, while Michaela Banyi (Valencia HS) finished in eighth place at 11.39 meters.

The Falcons won both relay races on the day, as the 400-meter relay team of Lilian Ebanks (Valencia HS), Kymberlynn Jackson (University Prep HS), Breanna Curry (University HS) and Meka Story (Gahr HS) recorded a fast time of 46.66. The 1600-meter relay team made it a relay race sweep with a time of 3:52.88 by the quartet of Jackson, Curry, Juanita Webster (Redlands HS) and Story. In the 200 meters, Story posted the third fastest time of 25.20, with sophomore Amanda Salgado (El Rancho HS) placing ninth at 26.42. As for Jackson, she ran the 400 meters in 58.51, which put her in fourth place overall.

Freshman Rebecca Harris (Buena Park HS) recorded a fourth place time of 4:51.37 in the 1500 meters and added a fifth place finish with a time of 2:20.17 in the 800 meters. Sophomore Kassandra Herrera (El Rancho HS) earned seventh place in the 100-meter HH in 17.36, with freshman Stephanie Anguiano (El Rancho HS) close behind in ninth place at 17.88.

In field events, freshman Jelani Minix (Carson HS) tied for first place in the high jump when she cleared 1.55 meters, while teammates Amani Briggs (Lakewood HS) and Banyi tied for fifth place at 1.45 meters. Webster took second place in the long jump with a distance of 5.74 meters, while Briggs was in seventh place at 5.04 meters. Ebanks competed in the triple jump and placed fourth at 10.84 meters, with Minix close behind at 10.68, good for fifth place. In the javelin, freshman Alejandra Guzman (Long Beach Wilson HS) took fifth place with a distance of 31.98 meters.
