Cerritos women's track and field won their third Southern California Championship in a row.

For the third year in a row - and fifth time in the last six seasons - the Cerritos College women's track and field team won the Southern California Championship. The Falcons, who were also serving as the host of the event, are now looking for their third CCCAA State Championship in a row, which will take place next weekend at American River College in Sacramento.

As a team, the Falcons collected 195 points and easily outdistanced second place Mt. San Antonio College, who had 117 points, with Riverside City College a distant third place with 99 points. Historically their strength, Cerritos compiled 123 of their points in field events, which included five first place finishes and would still have won them the title.

Winner of three events, sophomore Juanita Webster (Redlands HS) will be defending her heptathlon championship. She posted 5471 points to set a new Southern California record, breaking the old mark of 5448 set in 1984 by Li Jiau Thai of Mt. San Antonio College and is close to setting the state matk of 5500 points. She also won the 100-meter HH with a clocking of 14.19, while her long jump of 6.10 meters ties her personal best.

Freshman Mystasia Alexander (Lynwood HS) improved on her school record javelin throw of 45.42 meters, with freshman Ailinisilose Williams (Paramount HS) winning the discus with a toss of 41.66 meters. In the 400-meter relay, the quartet of Lilian Ebanks (Valencia HS), Kymberlynn Jackson (University Prep HS), Breanna Curry (University HS) and Webster turned in a first place time of 46.27.

Below listed in BOLD are the athletes who have advanced to the state championships. Because if A Standard marks and scratches, those entries could change, while others could be added.
